The V3.0 script update has gone off pretty smooth so far, but there have been a few items reported, and I'll cover them here. More...

Primbie doesn't seem to be jumping up on the V3.0 homes, if you leave him out he should still hop around and find treasures for you, just not perch on top of the homes as before. There is another issue with Primbie occasionally popping over to <0, 0, 0> on people's sims, so looks like it's really time to get a Primbie update out there!

The V3.0 homes are not phantom. I'm not sure how this slipped through, but to be honest, I don't remember when we turned them phantom either! Doh. It's not the end of the world, but I know that people would prefer if they were, so we'll put that on the list for any future updates. Your meeroo are still phantom so it won't be much of a difference to lag on your sim, but I know players get frustrated bumping into them.

Players have reported an issue with textures getting momentarily corrupted and/or parts of their Meeroo turning blue when they move. This is actually a bug in the latest Firestorm viewer and probably a few others as well. I'm told it does not appear in Phoenix or the latest V3 from LL. I spoke with the Firestorm team about it and it is something they said they will try to fix in their next release. It actually happens on all animated objects in SL, just people seem to notice it more on small sculpted objects like pets are made of. FYI, it is related to OpenGL VBOs and your current LOD. So if you're trying to take a picture of your roos, you can try increasing your LOD or you can go under your graphic preferences and disable the option called "Enable OpenGL Vertex Buffer Objects" However, that last option will probably kill your frame rate, so it's not really a viable long term fix.

Some people have been experimenting with the new pathfinding features that LL rolled out last week. An important thing to note is, do NOT select your roos and flag them as a "Static Object" If you do, it will try to add them into your navmesh and you will get spammed with an infinite stream of script error messages. Again, this isn't really an issue with the meeroo, it will do this for any animated objects on your sim. Static means "will never move" so if you set this on anything that does move, it will spam you with an error everytime it tries to move. If you happen to do this by accident, I'm told it's not uncommon for your client to crash from the sheer number of messages. There is no lasting damage to your roos if you can get back into the pathfinding floater and turn off static on them.

Keep any bug reports coming in! I'm not sure there are enough real issues at this point to warrant another patch immediately, however it is quite possible this will change once Nocs hit the grid. After nocturnals are out, we'll see if that's still true or not. If no other critical bugs do come in, I will probably make an optional 3.01 patch to fix phantom on the homes.

Finally, what you have all been waiting for is: PRE-ORDERS!!! We should have these vendors tested and ready for tomorrow evening, and we're going to plan on keeping them out until Aug 31st and we will send out the pre-orders on Sept 1st. As last time, preorders get a 3 day headstart and that means on Sept 4th, we will have the official Nocturnals launch date. I'm sure you all have lots of questions on the pre-orders, so I'll write another blog tomorrow that tries to cover everything you'll need to know in depth.
