And V3.0 is finally live! Yes, this is the last step before we can begin taking pre-orders! This is a mandatory update whether or not you plan on breeding Nocturnals with us in the future. It has quite a few fixes including one for sim idling, so you really want to update!!

There is no rush to update today, everyone will have at least the next two weeks to complete it. As with the HUD, players will not gain any game play advantage by being the first to update. Newer roos will ignore older homes. Nocturnal and hybrid roos will not breed on older homes. Also, all homes we sell will be V3.0 from now on.

Each update folder you get will have 10 updaters, so grab as many as you need from the Marketplace. You can also get the update at the Roo sim, but it will probably be very crowded today, so I would recommend using the marketplace store. It is setup using Direct Delivery, so be sure to look in the new "Received Items" folder for your update. If you don't get your update in a timely fashion, since it's free, I would recommend just trying to purchase another copy rather than filing a ticket with us. Presumably you will still get it faster that way, but it's SL so you never know, right?

The update process is designed to be as painless as possible, provided you set your AV's group to match your land BEFORE you rezz out the updaters. Just place them out on your land within a few meters of your original homes. If you do that, just like our previous update, that should be all you have to do. Just sit back and watch the updaters do all the rest for you! One other potential gotcha is that your roos must not be in "Market Mode" or on a fellowship home. If so, you need to put them on a home of your very own. After updated, you can move them back. Finally, while the home itself will update within seconds, the roos themselves will randomly update over the next 24-48 hours. This is to make sure that our backend servers are not overloaded with 1000s of update requests during the first day of the update process. Just be patient and they will all update on their own.

Don't forget if you have any old homes stashed away in your inventory to pull them out and update them as well so you don't forget later. Please note that when you pick up the newly updated homes SL will put them back in the folder that contained the update, not where you may have originally have had them. Sorry about that, but it's one of those SL quirks we just have to live with.

If you are one of those players still on V1.0, never fear, you can skip the V2.0 update and just go straight to V3.0. At the end of the ~two week update period, the current plan will be to have your existing out of date roos give you warnings in local to remind you.

This update is fully backwards compatible, all of our official products like food, petters, whistles, paint sets will work with the new V3.0 update. As for 3rd party products, I can't promise anything although we certainly didn't try to do anything to break them.

One important tip I'll tell you now, the existing paintsets will work on any diurnal meeroo now and in the future, but they will NOT work on a new nocturnal meeroo. Don't worry, if you do try to use one on a nocturnal, it will give you a message and you can still use it on another diurnal meeroo. Over the course of the next year, as each holiday rolls around we plan on making matching paint sets for the nocturnals.
