I was one who missed out on the New Years roo gift thingy but I read your post and I calmed down. I wasnt around on New Years much to say hi in the group so oh well, that's life. ((and to any others who missed out and are all torqued about it, I suggest putting on your big boy/girl panties and getting the heck over it!)) That said, I would like to make a suggestion for Moxie and Tiger.

One thing the Turtle folks used to do was have some gifts based on anyone "with a live turtle on the grid as of a certain date" - you guys could do that with the roos, either through the hud or with special giver that would simply give one per customer and could be in the main store. It would be one way to make sure everybody got one, but only if they had live roos before the announcement came out. Such a giver could be out for a few days giving everyone a better chance to try for it.

This sort of thing can be extended too to limited editions - make it so only one per customer but for more than 24 hours - maybe 72 hours or something since not everyone can get in every day or might miss announcements.

They also had a mardi gras gift where everyone went and got a token (random color of three and one per customer) then on the day they randomly picked one of the colors and everyone with that color token got a special turtle egg.

I am not suggesting you copy exactly, obviously, but this sort of thing can be done on the back end to make it fair and having larger windows of opportunity for fun stuff and evening out the playing field MIGHT help with some of the b!tching about "but i wasn't here" or "but I didn't get a chance to hear about it" or whatever.

It would be adorable, for example, if everyone could get a free (non transferable like the others) stump with hearts and chocolate. It would be more than one prim, of course, but it would be adorable, and making it no trans like the others would probably keep the alts down since it wouldn't have resale value.

Speaking of which, how about some purchasable homes - candy sweethearts like "be mine" where ONLY TWO roos can home! Maybe 50L each or something. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have some "true love" homes where they wouldn't be hopping stump to stump when I want certain pairs mated for life.

I hope this post gives you some ideas. And to everyone else, please feel free to post other ideas like this that might give moxie and crew some ideas for how to keep the fun things coming without feeling attacked every time they turn around.
