It's my understanding from Tiger's blog that these new species and such are a mutation and that the parents and siblings don't carry the genetics. However, all nests from the mutation will have these genes.
I've had success with line breeding so I've been doing that religiously over many months but I'm perplexed as to what to do with my New Dawn until I have her genetics developed. I was terribly disappointed this morning that my first nest of was a major down-coat so I've come to the forum to get some tips on what to do with a genetic mutation. I'm very worried I'm squandering this gift from the Meeroo gods. I'm well aware that her genetics aren't visible in this OS and that the potential for greatness is locked within this seemingly ordinary Koi nest, I just don't know if my preferred style of breeding is going to work with a mutation.
Would it be a good idea to try to trade her first nest for a New Dawn OS to throw with her? Gah I want instant gratification not 2 months of breeding to finally bring out the New Dawn once again. :P Any ideas are welcome :)
