Wondered if experienced breeders could give their thoughts on this please?
I put a bunch of roos in a pit.
I had intended the two painted to mate, and the two pairs of fluffy, and the one pair of long mane. (I did mention this in another topic but this is a new issue.)
At the new information about non fellowship can eat fellowship food, I took the long mane pair off fellowship, and they just bred. Their first nest - a long mane up ear fawn. Yay! Double trait. It's only a fawn, though.
Then the fluffy are either breeding together or with a painted. So far the painted haven't mated with each other, yet.
I decided that might be a GOOD thing since their OS will have both painted and fluffy genes. (I might even have a long mane/painted OS not sure.) But! The OS nests are all untraited winecoats!
So what should I do? Should I mate that OS nest to another painted, or another fluffy?
I did also buy ONE painted fluffy chest nest in a market and plan to coax it soon with a plain painted, both clear IRish eyes, unless someone has a better notion.
Then I thought I'd take one of their nests, and mate it to one of the painted/fluff or painted/LM OS nests that are the untraited winecoats.
I am now liking the fluffy chests (took me months, but I do now) especially the ursine or red ones. (Still not into fawns color.) So getting the fluff or LM into higher coats would be great!
Any tips or thoughts or opinions are very welcome. Thanks in advance.
