Frustrated and ready to throw in the towel

In Spires's picture

Hi All,

Not sure if I need a hug or a kick in the pants, but I am hoping someone can help me. The problem COATS - I just dont seem to have the knack of how to "progress". I just dont get it... I have gotten a couple of surprise nests - jubilee and a western, but other than those I appear to be all about traits. I finally bought a bunch of loch, koi, ambers, etc now that the market has gone soft.

And sure, i get more of those (now), but I just am not getting the whole progression thing. I breed this with that and that with this and round and round we go and I find I am growing increasingly peeved. This coat thing seems so freaking random to me. If I dont already have it, I dont get one. Honestly I feel like I should just throw away all these well-traited roos I have made and give it up, cause they are all gonna be wines and fawns. I am kinda hoping Tiger gets rid of both fawns and wines because every time i get one I am ready to throw in the towel.

If there are any coat pros out there who would be willing to come have a look at my herd and tell me where I am going wrong, I would be eternally grateful.
