I acknowledge Malevay Studios exercised their democratic rights in not answering my question.
However I believe they exceeded their rights, accidentally or otherwise, in grossly misrepresenting my question prior to locking the thread.
I fail to see how this complete misrepresentation of my question occurred purely by accident.
It may be the thread was merely skimmed rather than my question being actually read prior to Malevay Studios making their comment. However it is not unreasonable for someone to form the opinion it was an attempt by Malevay Studios to at best muddy the waters and at worst to discredit me.
Before anyone comments at this juncture, I ask you carefully read this post in full.
In providing clarification on my question as requested by one Forum reader, Rider Afterthought, see - http://tinyurl.com/3ndamow - I clearly stated what my question was and to save you the bother of reading back this is exactly what I said -
I asked if Malevay Studios could simply say yes we are a real appropriately registered business anywhere and do you meet all legal requirements, including those relating to employees, that is presuming they are.
But seeing as all I received as an answer was
"Answer - This post will be closed at 9pm slt"
I would like the Malevay Studios official business address.
However in their comment prior to locking the thread, I do not use the word answer as the comment was not one, Malevay Studios stated -
For all intents and purposes, Malevay is a virtual world business, same in form as those in which you buy your hair, skin or that cute top.
Malevay dooes not procure your real life information, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers or anything identifying your avatar controller.
Malevay does business in a virtual, global currency, just like your avatar does when it buys and sells content in secondlife. They never ask for real life billing details, bank information or credit card numbers.
If the above were true, yes, then perhaps you cou,d demandthereal names and addresses of the operators, but to be factual, it is against linden labs tos for them to even ask you who you are beyond your avatar identity. [sic]
My issue is at no time did I ask, much less demand, the real names and addresses of the operators.
There is simply no possible way my question could have been taken as asking the real names and addresses of the operators of Malevay Studios.
I asked Malevay Studios to simply confirm they were an appropriately registered business somewhere and were meeting all legal requirements, including those relating to employees. I then asked for the official business address of Malevay Studios NOT the address or names of the operators of Malevay Studios.
In my experience most official business addresses are either a Post Box or C/- an Accountant or Lawyers office
It would appear the comment from Malevay Studios was hurriedly typed, it was clearly not spell checked. I do not however believe that is reason for Malevay Studios to so grossly misrepresent my question.
Under the circumstances I do not feel it unreasonable to expect Malevay Studios to publish on this forum an acknowledgement they grossly misrepresented my question in their comment prior to locking the thread.
I am not asking for an answer to my question as clearly that will not be forth coming. I simply want Malevay Studios to acknowledge they grossly misrepresented my question in their comment prior to locking the thread.
An apology would be nice, an acknowledgement will suffice.
