Many have contacted us asking if there were Religious undertones to the Lore as it's been presented thus far.
In truth, no. The Lore is written from the ground up, and not influenced by any real-life religion. Many believe that Orlex and Vashara represent Good and Evil, and that's not correct. I personally view them as more political than religious. Neither Orlex or Vashara are "evil" as we say, and both have a very sincere agenda. It can also be said that Vashara isn't necessarily "Good" since she never intervened during the Great War to save the Legendaries (Her oath was to never intervene "To save a life or take a life."), and only some of the Meeroos followed her to Mount Alariah, while others followed Orlex to the Great Beneath.
It's quite an easy conclusion to draw that Vashara's appearance in light blue and emitting light draws parallels to a traditional Angel. Or that Orlexs' evolved appearance and deep voice muster images of a Devil, but neither is correct.
As the lore continues, you will discover more about each pivitol figure in the Meeroo World - for example, Orlex was not always an Oracle, he was once a human. What it really boils down to is the purpose they serve, and how it aligns with your goals as a player. It's really all in the player perception to decide whose agenda they subscribe to - not a system of beliefs.
We stay far away from any religious content. Our community is vast and as diverse as their individual beliefs. Meeroos, of course, possess no knowledge of our beliefs or traditions, except those we impose, like dressing them up on Halloween, although they have no idea what Halloween is. To them, Septemer 12 through November 5th is The Season Of Starlight, which is why we have seen a Matron of Starlight on Roo during this time.
