Halloween Special Content is a hit.

A few days ago I estimated that the current phase of reduction in Meeroo Population would end on October 31st. That prediction was made on the 8th based upon data then available.

On October 6th, Catherine announced Special Content for Halloween. On the 8th that content was released.

As a result of Catherine's announcement, a sudden shift in player behavior occurred. The rate of change in the decline make a marked, sharp change. The population change at that time was 2600 breeding Meeroos lost per cycle, easing at 100 fewer Meeroos lost per day over the previous day: leading to an estimate of 21 days until entering growth. That rate of change is now 750 breeding Meeroos lost per cycle, easing at 450 fewer Meeroos lost per day over the previous day: leading to an adjusted estimate that we will enter a new growth phase some time about mid-day on Wednesday!

My first reaction was that this shift was a result of my earlier estimate. Such happens occasionally, especially with small groups as we have breeding Meeroos. But, upon careful examination of the data, the shift occurred on the 6th: two days prior to my estimate. My estimates could not have been the cause. It must have been Catherine's announcement.

The Halloween Special Content has absolutely no effect, itself, upon breeding stock or results. The only reasonable conclusion is that the announcement, and its immediate, wide acceptance, effected player psychology.

As a result, it appears that the Halloween Special Content was extremely well received by the player population resulting in raised expectations for the future, and increased investment in Meeroo breeding stock.

In all respects, the Halloween Special Content was a Resounding Success.
