Greetings Malevay,
I just wanted to express my own little humble opinion about your Meeroo game now that I've played for a little more than 90 days.
I didn't want to have this feedback appear as if it was written by some random loyal "fan-girl", however as I wrote this I realized that it's just simply something I cannot avoid while expressing my honest opinions. It is what it is.
At first I was skeptical about Meeroos since I'd played with just about every single breedable game pet that hit the grid and I've enjoyed playing some of those games much more than others, although along with those high moments came times when I'd also become horribly disappointed by the actions and stances taken by certain breedable pet developers themselves.
I got a late start with your game, allowing a month to pass before I stepped in to try it. Meanwhile I spent that time reading everything posted on your blogs and researching what you'd published about Meeroos.
Then I set out to prove it. I decided that I'd use all that information as my own little Field Guide to form a strategy and I wanted to see where it led me in your game.
I have to say this game is difficult and challenging, but it does have the tools we need in order to figure things out. Between the hints in Tiger's Genetics blog post, to the hints given to us along the way as the game progressed and the clues given to us by our own Meeroo, the game's mechanics is extremely deep and fun.
I can see where it's complexity might not be fun for everyone, but this game you've designed is exactly what I needed from breedable pets in SL. It does play differently than any other breedable game that came before it.
I've suffered at times like everyone else, feeling stuck and not progressing while appearing to back-step, only to come to that "ah ha" moment by gleaning a little hint or clue to reform my strategies in play. It is a very deep, rich, challenging and fun breeding game. I'll probably never figure everything out, but that's ok.
The game has so many different aspects to it by starting out with such a vast amount of content and that it allows for many types of a player's own little dream projects, so I'll be busy working on them for a very, very long time.
The Meeroos themselves are wonderful and cute, the brilliant artwork for the pets never ceases to impress me as we progress through the game. Their animations, their sounds, and their available coats and traits make them incredibly addictive, emotionally lovable and attractive pets.
The story, their backgrounds, the lore written and released as we go along makes the game an adventure too. It's immersion is everywhere, from the Tome's itemized and often humorous descriptions of every single discovery facet of the game, to the little side puzzle game with the stones, the game's enhancements released, the extra Meeroo themed objects available, and the overall story of Meeroo Lore makes me even more excited about the game and I can't wait to see how it unfolds as the game evolves.
Anything that has appeared to be a negative event to occurred to your game along the way I've attributed to growing pains, and that's not a completely terrible thing to happen to any breedable pet game within it's first 4 months of it's release. You've handled the events that arose in a respectable and understandable manner, even going so far as turning some of the player's issues, complaints and problems around into a positive experience.
My respect for your game, your company and practices continues to rise as I play the game and I am a very happy customer.
