Treasures and Coats are linked!

Stephan Greymyst's picture

Over the past few days I've been looking into the relationship between the Treasures and Coats. What I've found is a bit surprising. To me there is a definite relationship here.

This idea is not new and has been suggested by many people. There are some overt clues that I will explore through this that may have led to some inital questions. They are always refuted because "I didn't get X treasure and I got Y coat" or vice-verse. I'll go into my theory as to why they exist however my main reason for posting this is to draw attention to the correlations between them.

Malevay went to a lot of trouble to name the coats as well as providing detailed information on each treasure we find. Was this really simply to give us something to read while we waited for our next roos to be born? There is a ton of ambiguity to the breeding of meeroos. Most people are coming from other breedables that to me appear to be breeding by numbers. They may not be as random as we like to think when looking at numbers and pairings.

The list is incomplete at the moment. I am still working on some. The Pine species has thrown me for a loop. I'm definitely looking for input and will continue to work on the list.

Pine Species
- Eagle Feather -> Sierra (http://www.sierravisionsstock.com/sierravisions/eastern-sierra-bald-eagles/ )

- Old Copper Coin -> Unknown
- Gold Bar -> Unknown
- Cowboy Hat -> Unknown

Gael Species
- Stale Shortbread -> Unknown

Masked Species
- Pouch of Rice -> Koi (http://klw5200.hubpages.com/hub/Koi-Fish-Care raised by rice patty farmers)
- Teacup -> Gesha (This treasure is a tea cup, or tea bowl. Its manufacture is of high quality and the designs appear to be hand painted. Cups and bowls of this type were often used in tea ceremonies of significant social importance to local culture. The Meeroo in possession of this object was using it as a location for storing berries. -- Geisha were known to serve and entertain those of high social status, it was their job!)
- Kabuki Mask -> Kabuki (ok this one is pretty obvious)
- Samurai Sword -> Emperor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samurai )

Savanna Species

-Ceremonial Mask -> Unknown (suspect terracotta or tribal)
- Porcupine Quill -> Unknown (suspect Komodo due animal reference)
- Woven Basket -> Unknown (suspect tribal)
- Raw Diamond -> Congo (http://www1.american.edu/TED/ice/congo.htm cause someone will argue there's no relationship)
- Zulu -> Zulu Spear (this one should be overly obvious as well)
Wooden Trinket -> Mussimo (A carved wooden animal. Similar to the fetish carvings of many of the peoples of Africa. This carving would appear to be an unidentified quadruped animal. It should be noted that it's silhouette is markedly similar to that of the Meeroo. Perhaps this carvings existence points to the extended presence of these animals in the region. ~ from the tome.... relates to http://books.google.com/books?id=vmrrg7uF1LIC&pg=PA90&lpg=PA90&dq=musimo... )

Malevay insists on the "game of meeroos". They push the fact there's more to breeding them than just sticking X - Y and getting Z.

My opinion on what this means is they are hinting at what genetics they carry for their species! When I first saw meeroos I was looking at them from species to species. I see a lot of people who are breeding by crossing species to generate new species. Or relying on species to mutate to bring up other species. I submit there's a link here to breed one species up from the most common to the most rare.

Take this for what you will. Hopefully some of you will see the connections, while not all complete, are eye opening none the less.
