Malevay Studios has been remiss in sending out announcements using only in-world group chat, and often not even sending those announcements to the Silent group.
Many (possibly even most) do not subscribe to the Official group, opting to monitor the Silent group instead.
Many who are in the Official group have chat turned off to avoid the excessive spam, flames and bad behavior all to frequent on that group's chat.
Most will not be actively logged in at the time the announcement goes out. Many of those (probably most) will have Instant Messages capped.
Even if one is logged in, there is no guarantee an announcement to group chat will be delivered at all.
When sending announcements, whether it's a Flash Sale, a schedule update for an upcoming release, or for any other reason, whoever is making the announcement should follow a check-list to ensure the announcement has the best chance of being seen.
This check-list should include:
* The front-page blog on the Web Site; posted as a new blog entry, not an update to an existing one.
* In-world Group Notices on the Official group.
* In-world Group Notices on the Silent group.
* In-world Group Chat on the Official group.
* In-world Group Chat on the Silent group.
It should be policy that no announcement is considered "completed" until at least all five points have been checked off.
