Shortly after my comments in reply to the post in Questions More Fake Food by cwypaco on 09/07/2011 - 22:04 the thread was locked, and therefore my question may have been easily overlooked.
I personally think a public response from Malevay as to if they have reported the crime of extortion is warranted, for a number of reasons the least of which is to reassure us Meeroo owners that Malevay is acting as a responsible corporate citizen and not allowing criminals such as those perpetrating this type of extortion and disruption of trade (e.g. fake food, fake vendors etc) to go unreported to RL legal authorities.
So my question directly to an authorised Malevay spokesperson is this –
Can Malvay Studios confirm they have filed an official complaint concerning the extortion threats they have stated they have received with the appropriate legal authorities and the type of legal authority it was reported to Police / FBI etc.
I fully understand for reasons of ongoing investigations etc Malevay may very well not be able to identify the authority they reported the crimes to beyond the simple statement Police or FBI etc, however that is more than sufficient.
I am aware of Catherine mentioning Malevay having been subjected to at least two separate extortion attempts, which is in my view, two too many.
It is my personal opinion such a statement by Malevay Studios will send a very definitive and totally clear message to those responsible for the extortion attempts that Malevay Studios is not going to allow themselves to be stood-over nor to be perceived as a "soft target".
However if Malevay have not reported these extortion attempts it has to beg the question as to why not and I believe as customers with an interest in the ongoing success of Malevay Studios we deserve to know why a crime has not been reported.
For the information of all I firmly believe that any person or persons placing fake food, fake vendors, attempting to extort money etc are harming both Malevay Studios and every Meeroo Owner and therefore need to be stopped as quickly as possible and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Finally I would ask I ask that non Malevay personnel do not answer my question. To comment appropriately is I believe a right of free speech, I would add I will not respond to any comments other than those by Malevay Studios or their staff.
In closing I ask that only an authorised Malevay spokesperson answer have these extortion attempts been reported and if so to which authority and if not, why not.
