Expansion Expectations

Looking over the recent "update" post i'm am curious as to what the expectations of this new expansion will bring.

I know in the current state of the game individuals who participated in the chest lottery got a head start in breeding highly desirable traits and coats, thus putting them at the top of the food chain in the meeroo secondary market.

I think we have all been able to realize at this point that having rares come straight from starter packs really took away from the game and it's breeding mechanics. Individuals were able to just purchase large amounts of starters until they had those rare traits/coats and them simply made more of them. All the while the average player took part in the game, spent the time and had the patience to slowly breed things out just to become discouraged by those who had abused game mechanics and were able to continual pump out rares or desirable meeroos. And i will say abused game mechanics lol.

I guess my question here would be that is the intent of the expansion meant to level the playing field once again for the community as a whole? I would think that with new species/traits/coats becomming available in the expansion the value of initial release meeroos on the secondary market will decrease as most will flock to the new shiny toys. I anticipate this will drive secondary market prices down, limiting the value of chest lottery winners cash cow stock.

If the expansions new traits/coats will in fact need to be bred out, do you expect the state of the game to revolve more around breeding and less around initial starter rare meeroos?

I do understand that people do actually breed rares, and mutations do occur, however from my experience it seems the chest lottery rares far out weight the number of truly bred roos.

I would really like to see the competitiveness that this game could potentially have really shine through. I would love for the average breeder to still feel they had an equal chance with anyone else out there on the grid to breed quality through creative and thought out breeding tactics.

I think if leveling the playing field is a motivator with this expansion then i think the state of the game would be heading in the right direction.

As someone who has mixed breeding with select secondary market purchases (nothing over 10k) i have really had a good opportunity to experience how involved and intricate the breeding process really is. I think many will miss out on that overall experience from simply being able to say "take this rare and put it with this rare now we have a factory!"

I look forward to what is to come, keep up the great work!
