New Expansion - Am I wrong? - Please for catherine

Haveing played a lot of MMORPGs in the passed, this looks much like any other game. So I wanted to write up what I took from the post. To put it simply:

Homes: We'll need new homes because there will be so much changing in the game that it will be like going from 1.0 to 2.0, since the homes (if i'm wrong sorry), speak directly to the servers, and thats how they do all the changes through out the game, the new homes are actually pretty neccisary. But I think (again I might be wrong), all of our "old roos" will be able to use the new homes (as they will be updated I'm assuming), and the old homes will be obsolete (because the game has grown and changed).

Buying new starter packs: as with any game expansion in the history of game expansions in ANY game, a new item is generally required to "unlock" the new aspects of the game. With wow, or rift it was new patches that introduced new lands. For the roos? new starter packs to get a new line of roos from where ever in the world. I cant see the company shooting themselves in the foot, because with any game expansion you build and grow from your base. And like with any breedable, they wouldnt have you delete everything just for the new stuff. I'd say it would be a safe guess that you would be able to breed and continue lines, moving traits between one roo to the next. The only big difference would be new coats/species that I imagine (just like now) you would have to breed out.

While I do feel like we just got charged a whole hell of a lot to play an extensive beta ( :( ) it's also not unlike any other game unfortunately. To use wow as an example again, every "expansion" was made to better the game play of the over all game. Even though sometimes it didnt! The idea was to learn from past mistakes, build and grow.

So I mean, this isnt a new concept at all.

Again if I'm wrong, it would be nice to know :)
