Pulling legit traits such as tiger ears and what not from a starter pack yet again diminishes the reward of breeders hard work getting those traits in their lines.

I purpose that the watchers are introduced possibly via a special limited edition food, that will make your meeroos next nest come out as a watcher. That way if you have traited roos, you will also have traited watchers.

This will reward players for the hard work that they have put in- which obviously some put in more than others- and reduce the lottery formula.

This could also help the market as a whole, encouraging people to purchase traited roos in an attempt to create traited watchers, while yet again-- rewarding your breeders who put in the effort to pull these traits, rather than return to the lottery where we can buy rare traits from a chest and giggle at the breeders who are trying to pull these traits on their own via.. breeding.
