Dear Catherine:
I have four elderly meeroos. I don't wish to change them to mee-pets and I don't wish to Release them. However, I would like to take them into my inventory for an extended period of time (could be a month or longer). I understand they will get starved sitting in my inventory. Is that correct? Also, if I do take them into my inventory, will I be able to safely re-rezz them on top of a food dish and not have them run off to the wild after they have been in my inventory for a month or more?
Thank you in advance for your response.

ANSWER: Hi Indy! Thank you for your question. A Meeroo is safe in your inventory for 3 days. If it starves while in your inventory (i.e. hits 0% hunger) it will immediately run off to the wild when rezzed. It will not even eat food if you rezz it on top of food. If this were to happen, people would allow many, many Meeroos to starve without any penalty for doing so.
If your Meeroo runs away to the wild, the only way to retrieve it is to buy a Whistle of Return to summon it back. It will return starved, but will not run away again as long has access to food. It will eat the amount of meals (Nibbles) it has missed while in deficit. Our CSR's do not return starved Meeroos, but they will always return Meeroos lost due to technical issues like the SL asset server.
