I finally got a Koi from Koi os and thought I'd share the process especially for Scooby. This has been the hardest slog from o/s for me (except Long Mane that I'm still working on and I think that's going to fail as the Mane ancestor was a starter and has never passed the trait that I can see looking thru its nests.)

I bought 2 male Koi o/s. Both had only one parent Koi.I couldn't find a female Koi o/s anywhere at a decent price.
I paired both of these with SUE female, 1 fawn, 1 wine. Why SUE? one male had SUE its his history and I had no shortage of SUE females.

So both pair produced females on the first nest, no Koi's.
Second nest I got a boy and girl. So I paired these together and then paired the females from the first nests to the opposite male (each others daughters). The sibling pair gave me a sierra, and tonight I got a Koi from the father / daughter switch around.
