Getting to this point with Meeroos has been a roll-coaster ride: for the players as well as the developers.
From Day Zero, we've suffered through problem after problem. First, it was the pop-and-drops causing a market crash right out of the gate. Then it was the "chest lottery". Next came content theft with the auto-petters. Today, we've still in the throws of recovering from the most recent attacks.
Yes, things could have been done differently. Yes, some of us expected problems of some sort. But, looking back, it's becoming apparent to me that, central to all of these problems, was a small group of individuals looking to take unfair (and largely illegal) advantage of things. And, when they could no longer do so to advance their greed, they resorted to blatant attacks with no purpose other than destruction.
As I look back, it seems apparent that more was going on than we've seen. It seems to me, the actions of these few individuals have been the root cause of many problems. They forced a huge stratification in the markets, causing some prices to crash while elevating others to insane levels. The net effect of their actions over the past few months was to cause even further frustration and resentment among the community.
Will such problems ever go away? No. But there is hope. Catherine and the rest of the staff and Malevay Studios have weathered their first true storm. They've lived through it: not unscathed, but they survived. They've learned, and we can all trust that when such problems recur, as surely they will, having been through it, they'll handle each incident with improving speed, efficiency and professionalism.
It is my hope that, now that their manipulations have been exposed and, largely, expunged, the markets will slowly recover. That the community will see less divisiveness as a result. And that we'll begin again with renewed hope that this game will evolve to reach its full potential.
So, I hope everyone will now take a moment to rest up, take stock, consider your Meeroos, and get back to the business at hand: breeding the #!&#ed things until they produce something! :)
