ok I have a question and would love it if someone could give me some pointers.

I purchased a Koi offspring (amber and highland as well) and have been breeding them all out and am now 5 generations removed from the original Koi mom, which of course I dont own. I am now backbreeding so that i have koi genetics on both male and female side and so far i have continued to just get Winecoats. Very discouraging but still trying.

Should I keep doing this? Or am i slowly losing the Koi gene because I will be onto 6 and 7th generation soon. Or do I just keep breeding them out keeping the Winecoat getting stronger?

I am a bit lost as so far i havent been very successful breeding out new coats other then reds, sierras and autumns,
