I had this idea while babbling mindlessly in another thread, What if you could see your meeroos hidden traits after they retire? It'd be too late to use the information directly, but it might give you a hint how to handle their offspring?
Sure, there's no guarantee any of their offspring inherited any of their hidden traits, but this would at least give us an idea how to proceed from there! And it'd be such a sweet gift from them for two months of care!
Dear Marissa Akula, thank you for feeding, petting and caring for me through my whole adulthood! Now that I'm older and wiser, I can tell you things about my genetics that you might not know! I was carrying the gene for Species: Kiwi, Coat: Caver! I was carrying the gene for Giant Anime Eyes! I was carrying the gene for Triple Swishy Flexi Tail! Maybe now that you know, one of my babies can help you discover these secrets! Your Loving Pet, Squirrelbooty.
It'd certainly take a small part of the random out of breeding, and perhaps encourage people to keep more meeroos full term!
