Improving chances is a dangerous game part 2!

A few days ago I started a thread discussing the recent regard changes. I had warned and predicted that the secondary market could take a hit and at worse case scenario have a crash.

From what I hear over and over again and seen with my own eyes. A hit has definitely been done and the impact is wide spread across the market.

Thanks to people spending 10s of thosands of lindens on starter packs. There's been a huge influx of rare meeroos. Not just in coats but in traits as well. Every single trait has been nearly discovered by someone, thanks to the chest lottery.

What the lottery has done is created a huge distance between the big breeders/rich folks and the small breeders/poor folks. Those who spent their money are way ahead of the game and already have niles, kois, and maybe even a few savannas too. Which the poor and small breeders are stuck with a sierra, red or autumn at best.

It's like the meeroo breeds got broken into two groups. Rich and Poor. The rich have all the rare meeroos and are ahead of everyone else. While the poor are probably still stuck with sierras, reds and autumns at best. In this situation it's nearly impossible to sell to the rich since they have everything and the poor have nothing they could offer. This is the dilemma we are in.

The rich probably already have all the rare meeroos and needed traits that they'll ever want. Which in turn puts them ahead of the game from everyone else and makes it damn near impossible to sell to them which in turn causes prices to drop. This is dilemma we are facing. (Anyone feel like this is mimicing the US housing market? just saying. xD)

Now this thread isn't meant to be all doom and gloom. There is some hope for the secondary market. The recent changes did boost morale and return faith into Malevay Studios. However it didn't solve all the problems Which are as following:

1) Seperation between rich and poor. The rich got everything rare, the poor got well... sierras? xD

2) The influx of rare meeroos that came into existance. Which have done more bad than good since the number of buys have drastically dropped.

3) The chest lottery still contains rares. Though many might have shy away from doing that, there will be a few who continue. It's only got twice as hard. So if they were spending 40k to get a rare, they'll just need to spend 80k now to get it.

4) A sudden stop in spending because of the widespread doubt and concern over the secondary market.

Now this thread wasn't all about doom and gloom. It was to list out the problems and hope spur up some ideas to solve these problems.

My suggestions are as follow. Feel free to add your own:

1) Remove rares completely from starter packs. You have to breed to get the rares.

2) Rares gain from starter packs should prove difficult to pass their traits/coats. (Even though some already prove difficult from what I heard.)

3) Let us see in actual numbers and percentages of our changes of getting something rare due to regard. I know that might be bad because if you see you have a 0.01% chance then you might just quit lol. However! I believe Meeroos were designed to be a long term game. Which leads me to think that to see any noticable effects with your regard you might need 1 million or more regard to just see some actual effects in your breeding.

Any other ideas are welcome!

FYI.. I know there are people who don't like discussions regarding the secondary market and that's fine but please keep such negative comments to yourselves and let those who are concern about the secondary market have a discussion regarding it. Thanks in advance.
