For a small breeder with 32 meeroos, I believe I was beginning to do really well with my breeding at one point. By combining the few coats (Sierra, red, autumn) that I had gotten with some offspring, I got MORE sierra, red etc., and I had just begun combining short tails and ears into each other and the coats as well - plus a fair amount the them all had clear monsoon eyes, my favorite.

Nothing big, nothing uber-rare, but breeding on the best and selling some for a bit of lindens now and then kept me sort of sane despite the endless 150K-meeroo-stories from damn starter packs...

THEN it was announced that regard would begin to matter a lot more, and I thought "WOOT!" - I have been lvl 25 for quite a while, my meeroos have up to 6500 regard points, and I have had regard streaks up to 670 or thereabouts. So that regard begins to matter more in breeding should be good news for me... right? Maybe I TOO would finally be able to get something really rare..??

Nooo! -Since that post in the blog - since THAT day, my meeroos have produced ONE surprise - a short upright ear nest out of nowhere - but all the meeroos that regularly produced sierra, autumn and reds have given me... Winecoat & Fawn! ALL of them!
Yesterday they managed 2 reds, that is all. My sierras & autumns & reds apparantly went SO far back in their gene pool due to regard that they completely forget to pass their actual coat - or what?

Now, I stand here, completely puzzled. What excactly was regard supposed to do? All I know is that MY breeding, that had slowly gotten better and better due to working for it, sure went to a sudden halt.

Does anyone have any kind of logic explanation on this? Getting to the point where winecoat nests were RARE to get, and then that announcement, and now it's ALL I get - so don't give me "random luck" theories, please. But if anyone else has this problem, I'd love to hear from you. -And I'd love even MORE to hear from Malevay - What EXCACTLY was that change supposed to do for people with high regard?? I for one will, unless giden a good explanation, claim that this is a HUGE setback :S
