First of all let me start by saying that i was so excited prerelease for these. I believed what i was told , that there were going to be more than just a 'breedable' but instead be part of a fully interactive dynamic game. I was so excited to have a breedable that i had to do more with than just leave them down with food and walk away. After having them for 40 days i have to say what I got was a breedable nothing more.
First of all as to the game portion, which is what i was most excited about, it is almost non-existent. It seems like in a effort to make the meeroos more 'friendly' to people who only wanted to do the breeding the hud portion is disconnected from the rest of the game. I mean petting a million times a day for a 'small chance' it might pull something new is not fun. For a game you need clear rules and clear rewards. Also leveling up has to mean something!
I'm level 19 and what i do i have to show for it? A new title in the hud and nothing else I didn't have a level 2. The tiny empires hud makes me feel more engaged with the game than that. My advice to the meeroos creators the 'game' portion has to have more of an effect on the meeroos. If there are people that dont want to do the gaming side too bad. There a a million other breedables where they can plop down food and walk away. Have the courage to not please everyone and instead make these what you said they would be. Something different!
Also i keep hearing this is a 'new game' and i have to say the fact that these are new is not a blanket excuse. Yes they are new but based on what was promised they are also underdeveloped. Now again if you want just a breedable these are fine but for a full game these aren't hitting the mark by far. We are 1/2 way through the breeding life of our first meeroos. Thats not all that new. More people should be seeing more traits especially the ones that have worked to get to level 19 or 26. I mean really should the people that have put that much time into the meeroos have the same chance of getting things as people picking up their first starter pack. No! There should be a dramatic and noticable difference! Let me put it this way if you were playing any other game like World of Warcraft for example, and at level 20 a level 1 player could consistently kick your ass. Would you keep playing or would it all just start to seem pointless at that point?
On to the Meeroos as breedables. All i can say is wow. I have 60 and I've gotten 2 traits all on my own without buying new genetics to put in ect. I understand the necessity of trying to keep rare things rare but really? Most of us sell some to supplement food costs. Ive made maybe 5000Ls off of all 60 of mine and given what they are to maintain its just too much. These are not my first breedable those that know me in world know ive owned just about all of them. Usually you want to have a range of non-starter traits that range from uncommon to very rare. That way almost everyone gets happy little surprises and things that keep that excited and engaged. If not they are all boring and the same and people just get bored. I almost release mine before looking im just not excited. i know for the most part ill get a fawn or winecoat with nothing else. When the excitement and anticipation goes away I think its a fail for the company.
Finally I just want to say that this was in no way meant as a bashing session. I'm keeping mine and letting them retire. As to if ill buy more im not sure. Please understand I want so badly to like these they are adorable! But they are also repetitive, the game portion is almost non-existent,and mostly i feel like i'm doing a lot of busy work for no reward (and no i don't mean just making Ls). I wanted a fully featured game and what I got was yet another breedable only this time with a hud that doesn't seem to effect the game at all. People say these are challenging, well yes they are in the same way the lottery is challenging. Theres no skill to it just low odds of getting anything rare and lots of dumb luck.
