If, like me, you have no restraint and find yourself with a whole herd of meeroos, you now know that you need to pet them a whole bunch so that their regard can catch up with your own and they will hopefully be able to reach back into their genetic lineage and produce more interesting babies.
Here's a few tips I've learned along the way. Please feel free to add your own!
- Keep your stumps far enough apart and the range low enough so the meeroos are clearly divided.
- Put a hovertext in an object nearby to show how many meeroos are at each stump so you don't have to click it every time and then close it. You don't want to miss any!
- Count the meeroos and be sure they are all there. Obviously it's easier to pet when they are asleep but sometimes one can be completely hidden by another or inside the stump, etc.
- If they are asleep pet in some kind of order - left to right or farthest to closest, whatever makes sense to you.
- If they are awake and wiggling mentally form groups - pet all the reddish ones first or all the little ones, grouping makes it easier to keep track of moving meeroos.
- As soon as you see your avi bend to pet one click the next one and put your mouse over the pet button so that you can click it as soon as you stand up again. This not only makes it faster but helps keep track.
- Double click to TP from stump to stump - you can get exactly where you want to be and it's faster and more accurate than walking.
- NEVER let treasure distract you in the middle of petting a group at a stump, you WILL lose your place and the treasure will wait long enough for you to finish that stump.
- I do pick up meeroos for snuggles when asked, the guilt is just too much to bear otherwise! But I carry right on petting, even with one or more in my arms. You can also pet a meeroo you are holding and they will get the points.
After a round of petting I'll hang out with them a while for more snuggles. Snuggles lead to treasure and there can never be too much treasure! Also, I've noticed that meeroos get real snugly just before having babies, I'm starting to suspect a correlation there.
Here are the times (SLT) when meeroos sleep - handy to know! Pet while asleep, snuggle when awake :)
