Hello eveyone. I am Delete Button. Many of you know me as the creator of the Meeroo & Treasure Finder. There seems to be much discussion as to the recent events which have upset Meeroo customers, as well as my own.
Since I discovered the Meeroos in their Open Beta, I have made several efforts to contact the Meeroo Team members (More specifically Levio and Catherine) after the made changes which were specifically aimed at attempting to break Treasure Finders, so I may continue making additional tools such as the Meeroo Stats Signs.
Understanding there was no public API available, I devised a way to still obtain the information needed, and immediately attempted to contact Catherine repeatedly for weeks on end to let them know of my creations and intentions, and to seek approval or denial and got absolutely no response up until a few nights ago when Catherine contacted me.
Catherine had apologised for the delayed response and explained that Levio was the person in charge of such questions, and commended me on attempting to contact them. I immediately attempted to contact Levio and re-explain the situation to them and letting them know I intended to release my new Meeroo Stats Signs the following day, however they were offline so I also dropped them a notecard.
The following day occurred, and no response was received from Levio. I saw Levio online later that night and attempted again to contact them to get approval or denial on my tool. Even went into explaining how it worked, and how it kept a local cache of the data to prevent from beating on their server, and still no response. With that I decided to hold off the MSS release until the next morning, in case they might respond.
With the next morning upon us, and no response from anyone, I took it as a sign of there not being anything wrong with what I was doing, and continued with the release. Less than 12 hours later, changes were made which specifically prevented the MSS from working.
Again, I have made several attempts to contact them before taking any actions, and took their lack of response as a sign of nothing being wrong. It would have been really nice to have gotten a simple “No”, rather than allowing me to spend time, money, and effort on my products, only to sell them, have it destroyed, and have upset customers.
In the mean time, MSS will no longer be sold at this time, and all future projects are on hold until I hear something back from the Meeroo creators (if I ever do).
I am deeply sorry for any inconvenience this has caused, and never had any intention to step on anyone’s toes. I simply wanted to create useful tools along side the excitingly innovative breed-able Meeroos.
P.S.
What is the official stance on 3rd Party Tool Development? What IS and what ISN’T allowed? The only reason I proceeded was because I did not see any mention in any documentation, EULA, TOS, or otherwise stating that I couldn’t do what I did, but I contacted Malevay Studios anyway. With nothing written or said against it, as anyone most likely would, I took it as a sign of there not being any problem with my actions.
