What is and isn't Starter...

Angelina Sinclair's picture

I've been going back and forth with a few people about what is and isn't a starter. I personally feel the meeroo creators decided to do things very differently with meeroos compared to other breedables.

Usually other breedables would give you a starter set of coats and the occasional one or two that was hard to come by. That particular one tend to sell for alot of lindens.

People are claiming that sierra, autumn and reds are starter coats. Yet I don't agree with that idea. Simply because of some meeroos starting out with traits. Such as short tail and short ears.

Traits are always suppose to be something you breed out. However, to me it seems the meeroo creators decided to give each of us a small chance of getting ahead of the game by getting a meeroo with traits. A trait could also be considered a different coat or different size.

I believe we are suppose to be able to breed sizes with our meeroos yes? So why is it we can start out with teacups and gaints at perfect 0.0 and 14.0? Why already give that out in the beginning?

Why is it possible to get every eye available through starter packs? Why do we have so many supposed starter coats? Let me list them:

Winecoat
Fawn
Ursine
Sierra
Autumn
Red
Koi (Yes someone got that as a starter)

I saw someone get two traits (short tail and ears) as a starter. That does not make sense when it comes to breedables. Why so much so early on? 7 coats? 3 traits maybe 4 if that canine head was a starter too. Would need someone to verify for me.

Now here goes something else to throw into that mix. Here's a coat from a recent blog post:

"Aside from the starters, several lucky Meeroos Parents have revealed the Autumn coat, Sierra coat and so far, we've only seen a couple Amber coats!"

Read between the lines. That tells me that Autumn, sierra and ambers are not starter coats. Keywords... 'aside from the starters.' So that means those winecoat, fawn, and ursine are definitely starter but anything else isn't.

So does that mean that we could buy starter packs that will give us a boost in the breeding game by starting out with traits, including new coats? That's what I think the creators did for us.

Which means we should really stop calling Sierras and Autumns starter coats, regardless if they came from a starter nest. It wouldn't be right. Since the creators themselves have excluded them from starters. In that very blog post.
