Good Question

Windchyme Shepherd's picture

It was brought up today in chat by someone that use of pictures (that the person themselves took) of the meeroos in works (signs showcasing a certian part or trait of the meeroo that are sold such as in those little trait signs that are used at sale areas) signs and advertisements for the "ranch" of the breeder or the sale of an individual animal(such as at sales locations or on the marketplace) may or may not be copyright infringement. And it is something worth pondering.

So my question is, to avoid running afoul of any laws that may or may not be in play, do we, as customers, have permission to use the photos we personally take of meeroos or nests or other meeroo items (which is essentially a copyrighted image when it comes down to it, as well as a computer program) for commercial as well as personal uses, at least commercial as it applies within the realm of second life and the SL marketplace?

Of course I wouldn't think that it would be ok to take a picture of a meeroo and then put it on t-shirts and sell them on ebay or anything liek that and I don't think any other law abiding person would think that it is ok.

Better to clarify and be clear on it then possibly do something that is wrong. So I decided to ask rather then guess and ponder.

Thank you
