Chiiirp! Birrrt! Purrrrrrrr!
The generation number of a meeroo is fundamental for the reach of a genetics mutation. As stated by Catherine, "The further we get from our origins, the more likely these spontaneous events broaden the presence of new or unique traits in people, and in Meeroos!".
To see the generation number of a meeroo or nest, when we buy or study a meeroo, we need to use the green button and go to the Meeroo web site. This is indeed very slow.
I propose, in a future update of the Meeroo HUD, to include the generation number of a meeroo or nest in the Study Page of the HUD.
Best regards.

Hey everyone.. not sure if I should post this here or where else, but I wanted to try and get a community group going for researching these little guys...
We're calling it the Meeroo Engineering Reproduction Facility... or M.E.R.F. for short.
The goal of this group is to research, document and share genetic and breeding information that anyone in the group can use and share with their fellowship.
If you are interested in joining this group, please contact DarnelJohnson Resident.

It's been raised that there seems to be something wrong with the fairness of the Meeroos game. So far, the talk has been about observations and feelings. The numbers, however, tell the true story.
As usual, a preface. I'm making some basic assumptions about how things Are. I might be wrong. But decades of experience has taught me to go with Occam's Razor whenever possible: the simplest explanation is usually correct.

Being the careful person I am, I've been watching this forum for a couple of weeks debating whether or not I should get some of these adorable creatures (they are the best looking breedable out there as I see it right now in terms of quality and cute factor).

Once again my two cents I'm tossing in. Why? Because I can, same reason anyone posts in here. :D
It was already stated, with the amount of meeroos actively or inactively on the grid that mutations will happen. This is at it's core a genetics simulation. Yes it has its limitations to accuracy based on the medium to which it is being brought to us on. With that said, it has been explained a NUMBER of times by other Players and by the Malevay Team Members themselves.
Catherine:
This is normal.
There needs to be somewhere to actually talk about the genetics, they do exist, breeding isn't a lottery. Buying starter packs is.
Breeding feels like a lottery at the moment because many of us are still playing with Meeroo that are are best a couple generations away from the great unwashed every-meeroo couple. The gene pool is very very murky at the bottom.
It is also very easy to breed mutts. Mutts are just that, odd bod genetic soup.

There is a lot of complaint about the after-market for Meeroos. I prefer to think the folk at Malvern are puzzled and at a loss as to what, if anything, they can do; because I don't want to believe they knew what would happen.

This pseudo-code presents a possible implementation of the Meeroos genetic system. While this model is believed to be generally correct, in concept, it is simplistic and skips (unknown) details.
// Types
SPECIES is in range [ 0 .. 4 ]
COAT is in range [ 0 .. 7 ]
GENE is a set of { SPECIES Species, COAT Coat }
CHROMOSOME is a set of
{ GENE Maternal, GENE Fraternal }
EFFECT is a type of GENE
// Variables
// What is really there, but hidden from view
Me is an instance of CHROMOSOME

Just was wondering if there was any ryme or reason to how the Meeroos are listed. Reason I ask is sometimes I have a new Meeroo and even though she is younger she is close to the top of the list with my oldest.
Its obviously not by age or alphabet.
