A place to discuss the genetics of meeroos.
So I bred a Zulu and Painted and got Terracotta on the first nest:

I bred a Jubilee with a Snowpaw and got a Red:

I bred an Azure with a Loch and got a Highland:

My first thoughts besides who to pair the terracotta with are to put the Red and the Highland together as they are compatible personalities, I do not think they are related.

So i LOVE the 0.0s and 1.75s over all the other sizes, well, toys are good to, but i LOVE the tiny roos.
My question... To those that try for only cups, what do you do? Do you just only buy/keep/trade for that size or do you keep the bigger as well? Majority of my herd is of bigger size, mostly the middle ones with a few toys, smalls and cups. Sad thing is, most of the stuff im trying to breed out is in the bigger coats atm. Are you breeding out what you want, then breeding them into the sizes?

I am posting this because I have seen several people comment in different threads lately that they are nervous about making unusual pairings of coats and that when they have they get lower coat offspring that they don't think is a good nest or know how to use that lower coat offspring. I just want to reassure you (if you are also feeling like this), that the lower coat offspring really is the key to progressing your lines.

Due to heavy amounts of cold medicine, I've decided to breed...
A zulu:

With a loch:

And bets on what I get? I'm guessing either a loch or a winecoat.

Yay!
Today was 3 Baby Ready nests (which held predictable babies), some winecoats, and some other predictable nests.
And then, there was this one!

I bought both parents live so I cannot take ANY credit for it, other than, I paired them.
Now I need to find him a mate I guess. I hope his babies have green clear eyes, with the pink coat that would be pretty.

I'm working on something I've been pulling aspects of from others (mainly Chilali) and I've come across the neatest discoveries.
I've come to the decision that I cannot advance coats without having every coat from each species in the line that I am working on. So for instance, I have Painted and Jub in the Nile species and Koi, Emp & Kabuki, for Masked but I haven't been able to progress farther than that.

Is there a way to get access in like word or notepad to a list of My Meeroos and their parents and descendants, as well as characteristics and traits?

Hey all,
Now I'm stuck, but maybe not in the same way as the usual stuck, heh.
I just hit Musimo in my Soul lines, which was a "from scratch" project of intentional path breeding of lines from Fawn/Wine/Ursines and on up.
It was a project very close to my heart because I really wanted to prove to myself everything we've been told, to intentionally recreate their progression and that, yes, we can do it from the Malevay starters.
Gotta love Malevay, yes I do!
