I think that auto-petters should be banned. I think threads about auto-petters should be banned. I think that thinking about auto-petters should be banned. I'm beginning to think that petting should be banned just to stop all the threads about auto-petters.

I think Malevay Studios has been more than fair about petting. They could have easily said that meeroos would only gain regard by having the owners pet them. But they allow anyone with a hud to pet someone's meeroos for points. It does not even have to be someone in your fellowship.

And if auto-petters were approved, what comes next?
Auto-primbies that pick up your stuff when you are not here?
Auto-feeders that resupply your bowls in case they run out of food?
Auto-maters that just select the best meeroos to mate?
And let's not forget auto-snugglers for when your meeroos want to snuggle.

This is a game. As such, part of it is playing the game by the rules. To me, auto-petting is like counterfeiting your own Monopoly money so you have more than the other players. And if you give Monopoly money counterfeiting machines to all the players, then what's the point. Everyone will have tons of "funny money" and it will mean nothing.

Personally, I'd love to see Malevay say "Auto-petters of any type will not be allowed and any posts about auto-petters will be removed from the forums." I think it would make the forums a much nicer place to visit.
